Hey all you Disney lovin faithful!! I am here to give you my review and prospective of Port Orleans French Quarter Resort at Walt Disney World!!

I first stayed at this resort back in October of 2019 with my best friend and her two girls when I went to go visit her for my “birthday week” vacation. We started our week by staying two nights here, and a 1 day park hopper. They had stayed here before, and this was my first Disney Resort stay.

I have to say, I was blown away!!! It is a moderate resort. It is the smallest of the moderate Disney World Resorts. But it is so peaceful, quaint, and just absolutely breath-taking! I have since stayed here two more times, in 2022, and 2024. While I have yet to stay at other Disney Resorts, I can say, wholeheartedly that this is my “home resort.

There are 8 buildings that house the hotel rooms. It honestly does not matter which of the 8 buildings you are staying in, you are no more than a 5 minute or less walk to anywhere, including the front lobby, the pool, the food court, the boat dock to the boat that takes you to Disney Springs, the bus stop.

The pool area is amazing! The pool slide is in the shape of a dragon (and yes, I have gone down the slide. Judge me, I dare you). They also have a splash pad for the little littles to enjoy. I always go down with a book, and will also lounge in a chaise lounge chair and read, take a dip for awhile, come out, read some more, maybe go over to the pool bar and get an adult beverage (I’m on vacation. Again, judge me if you must).

Next is the food court. It is kind of standard for a food court, but with New Orleans style foodage for lunch and dinner, and breakfast has many choices for all. I always like getting pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Depends on what I am in the mood for when I am doing lunch or dinner if I don’t have a dining reservation for Table Service. Coke Express for pop (I’m from Michigan. It’s pop, not soda!)

I find myself popping into the gift shop at least once a day, sometimes more. Lots of cool things that are New Orleans/The Princess and the Frog themed.

The front lobby/check in desk. These cast members are beyond helpful and always have a smile on their face and a warm welcome in! They have always made me feel at home, and if I have any questions during the week (which sometimes I do) they go above and beyond to help me out and or find the answer I am looking for.

French Quarter does have an arcade for the kids, whether big or small. I have not gone into it yet, but maybe next trip I will, so I can report what it is like, and what not. They also have a little playground area that is near the pool and the hot tub for the kiddos.

I would be remiss to not mention one of my favorite spots, which is Scat Cat Lounge. This is open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Nights. You get to take in a live Jazz Band, enjoy some beniegts (whether Mickey shaped or infused) and if you are of age, some adult beverages. On my last trip, while I was at the lounge, I had an amazing Espresso Martini. I highly recommend if you enjoy martinis.

I cannot hype this resort up enough!!! It to me is so worth it, both size wise, walks to amenities from your room, to the ambiance.

I will have to come back at a later date to upload my pictures from French Quarter so that you can see. Next trip, I will definatley be taking more pictures and adding them to this post as well.
